NEW RELEASE
"Spartan Helmet Necklace"
New Movie Edition
300 Warriors
The Spartan soldiers in Frank Miller's movie "300" wear only one piece of actual armor. Yup. Just a helmet. So you have to imagine that the helmet they wear had to be a pretty important piece of equipment. In fact, the shield they carried and the helmet they wore protected almost all of their body, from ankle to crown, when they were in formation.
This helmet is a stylized version of a Greek Corinthian style helmet.

It features the extended cheek guards and prominent nose guard of most greek helmets, but it has an artistic style to it. This style comes from Frank Miller and his graphic novel 300. Miller penned the artwork for the series and said he wanted the soldiers and their uniforms to flow. He added that initially he drew the Spartans wearing full Hoplite armor, but wasn't happy with how bulky and inhuman they looked. So, he stripped them down to a cape, loin cloth, shield and helmet.
This helmet is sculpted from pewter to mimic battered bronze. It makes a great combo with the Spartan Sword which is soon to be coming!
More About The Movie 300:
In 480 BC the Persian Empire was poised to conquer all of Greece. While their countrymen turned and fled from their invaders, a band of 300 Spartan warriors faced off against the largest army the world had ever seen. Led by King Leonidas, the Spartans would show an empire what it meant to be truly heroic by battleing the Persian army with the Immortals.
